We are deeply saddened to announce the untimely demise of the renowned Tamil actor, Daniel Balaji. He passed away on 29th March 2024, at the age of 48, due to a heart attack. Known for his captivating performances in films like Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Daniel Balaji was a beloved figure in the Tamil film industry. His sudden departure has left a void that will be hard to fill.

Daniel Balaji, born as T. C. Balaji on 2nd December 1975, was an Indian actor who predominantly worked in the Tamil film industry and also in some Malayalam films. He was born in Chennai to a Kannada father and Tamil mother. He studied a film direction course in Taramani film institute, Chennai. His uncle was Kannada film director Siddalingaiah, the father of Kannada and Tamil actor Murali. His nephew is Atharvaa.

Daniel Balaji began his career as a unit production manager for Kamal Haasan’s unreleased film “Marudhanayagam”. He made his acting debut in the television serial “Chithi,” where he played a character named Daniel. His success in this role led to him being called Daniel Balaji in his next serial “Alaigal”.

His first major role was in Kaakha Kaakha as a police officer alongside Suriya1. The film, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, was about a squad of policemen fighting organized crime in Chennai. Balaji followed this up with another major role in Menon’s next film, that of the antagonist Amudhan in the blockbuster film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. His portrayal of both these roles received praise..
